OVERVIEW, TERMS & CONTACT INFO
OVERVIEW
This cataract diagnostic package combines optical biometry, specular microscopy, and corneal topography to prepare for cataract surgery. It measures eye length, corneal shape, and endothelial health. These non-contact tests help your surgeon choose the correct lens and plan a safer, more precise procedure.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS, INCLUSIONS, AND EXCLUSIONS
1. Package includes optical biometry, specular microscopy, and corneal topography only.
2. Professional interpretation and surgical planning are billed separately.
3. Fees may vary with repeat scans or additional required diagnostics.
4. Tests support planning but do not replace full ophthalmic examination.
5. Image quality depends on fixation and ocular surface clarity.
6. Testing may be deferred in active infection or poor cooperation.
7. Final lens choice remains physician dependent.

DETAILS
CATARACT DIAGNOSTIC PACKAGE (OPTICAL BIOMETRY, SPECULAR MICROSCOPY, CORNEAL TOPOGRAPHY)
The Cataract Diagnostic Package combines Optical Biometry, Specular Microscopy, and Corneal Topography into one structured preoperative assessment service. This package provides precise measurements that support safe cataract surgery planning and accurate intraocular lens selection. As a result, your ophthalmologist can tailor the procedure to your eye’s exact structure and visual needs.
WHAT THIS PACKAGE INCLUDES
This diagnostic bundle gathers three critical datasets before cataract surgery. First, optical biometry measures eye length and corneal power for lens calculation. Next, specular microscopy evaluates corneal endothelial cell health. In addition, corneal topography maps the corneal shape and curvature. Therefore, the surgeon receives a complete anterior segment profile before surgery.
OPTICAL BIOMETRY
Optical biometry uses non-contact light technology to measure axial length, anterior chamber depth, and corneal parameters. These values guide intraocular lens power selection. Consequently, accurate measurements improve refractive outcomes and reduce the chance of lens power surprise after surgery.
SPECULAR MICROSCOPY
Specular microscopy analyzes the inner corneal cell layer called the endothelium. These cells maintain corneal clarity. Because cataract surgery places stress on this layer, preoperative cell assessment matters. Thus, this test helps estimate corneal safety margins and guides surgical technique choices.
CORNEAL TOPOGRAPHY
Corneal topography creates a detailed curvature map of the cornea. It detects irregular astigmatism and subtle shape changes. Moreover, it supports planning for toric and premium intraocular lenses. Early detection of abnormal patterns also helps prevent unsuitable lens selection.
HOW THE TESTS ARE PERFORMED
All components are non-contact and clinic-based. First, you sit at each device and focus on a target. Then, automated scans capture measurements within seconds. Most patients complete the full package in one visit. In most cases, dilation is not required unless paired with other exams.
WHY COMBINED TESTING IMPROVES SURGICAL PLANNING
Single tests provide limited insight. However, combined diagnostics improve decision accuracy. For example, lens calculations become more precise when biometry and topography agree. Likewise, endothelial assessment adds safety guidance. Therefore, bundled testing supports personalized and lower-risk cataract surgery planning.
