Surgical Fees for Phacoemulsification and Refractive Lens Exchange
CASE SUMMARY
Patients often ask about our surgical packages for cataract surgery (phacoemulsification) or refractive lens exchange.
Our professional fees are fixed, transparent, and standardized for all patients. This allows you to clearly understand costs and choose options that best match your visual goals and budget.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU
Our clinic follows a “modular” approach rather than a bundled package.
- The surgeon’s professional fee is fixed.
- Additional components (lens implants, hospital fees, anesthesia, etc.) are selected based on your needs and preferences.
This gives you full control over both your visual outcome and your expenses.
PROFESSIONAL FEES
- Standard Professional Fee
The professional fee is ₱56,000 per eye. - Senior Citizen / PWD Discount
If a valid Senior Citizen ID or PWD ID is presented, a mandated 32% discount is applied.
Discounted fee: ₱40,000 per eye.
ADDITIONAL PREMIUMS (WHEN APPLICABLE)
- Femtosecond Laser-Assisted Surgery
A 50% premium is added if a femtosecond laser is used to assist the procedure. - Sedation or General Anesthesia
A 50% premium is added if the procedure is performed under sedation or general anesthesia instead of standard topical anesthesia.
These options are not mandatory and are selected based on medical indication, patient preference, and comfort.
WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PROFESSIONAL FEE
The following are paid separately:
- Hospital fees (operating room, supplies, etc.)
- Room rates (if admission is required)
- Intraocular lens (IOL) implant (subsidized by Philhealth)
- Medications and disposables
- Anesthesiologist's professional fees (50% of surgeon's professional fees)
This separation ensures transparency and flexibility in cost planning.
CHOOSING YOUR LENS IMPLANT
The intraocular lens (IOL) is a key factor in your visual outcome.
Options may include:
- Monofocal lenses (basic distance vision)
- Toric lenses (for astigmatism correction)
- Multifocal or extended depth-of-focus lenses (for reduced dependence on glasses)
The quality, technology, and cost of the lens are chosen by you based on your lifestyle and expectations.
Think of it like choosing a camera lens: the body (surgery) is the same, but the lens determines how clearly and flexibly you see.
INSURANCE AND GOVERNMENT COVERAGE
- PhilHealth
Pre-approval is required when applicable. - HMO
A Letter of Authorization (LOA) is required if covered by your provider.
Our team will assist in coordinating these documents whenever available.
