DETAILS

OVERVIEW

Basic Dry Eye Screening is a structured, noninvasive diagnostic package that checks the quality and stability of your tear film and eyelid oil glands. It uses advanced ocular surface imaging and tear analysis tools to detect early dry eye disease and related surface problems. As a result, your eye doctor can recommend targeted treatment instead of trial-and-error therapy.

WHAT THIS SCREENING INCLUDES

This package combines several objective dry eye tests performed during one visit. Each test measures a different part of the tear system and ocular surface. Together, they produce a comprehensive Dry Eye Report that supports accurate clinical decisions.

1. TF Scan evaluates tear film quality and surface regularity.

2. Meibo-Scan images the meibomian glands and checks for gland loss or blockage.

3. R-Scan studies tear film behavior and surface patterns.

4. Tear Meniscus Height measures tear volume along the lower eyelid.

5. NIKBUT or Non-Invasive Keratograph Break-Up Time measures how long tears remain stable before they break.

6. Dry Eye Report summarizes all findings in a clear, doctor-reviewed format.

HOW THE TESTS ARE PERFORMED

The screening uses camera-based and light-based imaging. No needles, dyes, or touching instruments are required in most cases. Therefore, the process stays comfortable and quick for most patients. You simply look at a target while the device captures detailed images and measurements.

WHO SHOULD CONSIDER DRY EYE SCREENING

You benefit from this screening if you have dryness, burning, tearing, fluctuating vision, or eye fatigue. In addition, it helps people who use screens for long hours, wear contact lenses, or plan refractive or cataract surgery. Patients with eyelid disease, autoimmune conditions, or previous eye surgery also gain value from early tear film assessment.

WHY EARLY DETECTION MATTERS

Dry eye disease often starts with subtle tear film instability and gland dysfunction. However, symptoms may appear late. With objective screening, your doctor detects changes earlier and starts preventive care sooner. Consequently, this approach can improve comfort, visual quality, and surgical readiness.

CLINICAL AND LEGAL NOTES

This screening supports medical evaluation but does not replace a full eye examination and physician consultation. Test results are interpreted in clinical context. Treatment decisions depend on total findings, patient history, and professional judgment. Additional tests may be advised when needed.
