DETAILS
DRY EYE SCREENING PACKAGE
The Dry Eye Screening Package is a comprehensive, non-invasive diagnostic service designed to detect and measure dry eye disease using advanced ocular surface imaging and tear film analysis. This package combines TF Scan, Meibo-Scan, R-Scan, Tear Meniscus Height measurement, Non-Invasive Keratograph Break-Up Time (NIKBUT), and a structured Dry Eye Report. As a result, patients receive an objective, evidence-based evaluation instead of guesswork.
Dry eye disease often causes burning, fluctuating vision, foreign body sensation, redness, and eye fatigue. However, symptoms alone do not always match disease severity. Therefore, detailed screening helps guide accurate diagnosis and targeted treatment.
WHAT THE PACKAGE MEASURES
This screening evaluates multiple tear film layers and eyelid gland health. Each test adds a different and clinically useful data point.
1. TF Scan analyzes tear film quality and stability.
2. Meibo-Scan images the meibomian glands and checks for gland dropout or blockage.
3. R-Scan evaluates redness and ocular surface inflammation.
4. Tear Meniscus Height estimates tear volume along the lower eyelid margin.
5. NIKBUT measures how fast the tear film breaks up after a blink without touching the eye.
6. Dry Eye Report compiles results into an easy-to-understand clinical summary.
HOW THE TEST IS PERFORMED
The procedure is quick, comfortable, and drop-free in most cases. First, high-resolution images and videos of the tear film and eyelid glands are captured. Next, software automatically calculates stability and volume markers. Because no instruments touch the eye for most measurements, patient comfort remains high. The full screening usually finishes within minutes.
WHO SHOULD CONSIDER THIS SCREENING
This package is recommended for patients with dryness, irritation, fluctuating vision, heavy digital device use, contact lens wear, or prior eye surgery. In addition, it supports pre-LASIK, pre-cataract, and pre-refractive lens evaluations. Patients with autoimmune disease, hormonal changes, or long-term medication use also benefit from baseline tear assessment.
CLINICAL VALUE AND LIMITATIONS
Objective tear metrics improve treatment planning and monitoring. Consequently, doctors can match therapy to the specific tear layer problem. Still, results must be interpreted together with a full eye examination and medical history. This screening supports, but does not replace, a comprehensive ophthalmic consult. Treatment decisions remain individualized after physician review.
PATIENT SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE NOTE
This service provides structured diagnostic data for dry eye evaluation. It does not serve as a stand-alone diagnosis or treatment order. A licensed ophthalmologist reviews all findings and explains appropriate next steps, options, benefits, and risks before any therapy begins.
